An MBA degree is one of the most sought after programs in the US. Every year, an estimated 80,000 students come to the US from India to pursue higher studies. Among them, a substantial number apply for a bachelor or a masters program in business administration.
A business program in the US offers various options. There is the traditional two-year rigorous program offered by schools such as the Fuqua School of Business. There is also a one-year short-term program offered by some schools. Students can also opt for a Masters in Financial Engineering or a Masters in Engineering Management {MEM} in place of a business administration degree.
An FE or MEM degrees are also quite viable options for students as it aims to build quite significant competencies equal to that offered by an MBA program.
Most of the top ranking business schools in the US only consider candidates who have a work experience for about three to five years. Most schools would not consider the application if the required amount of work experience is not there.
Other eligibility requirements include a good GMAT score, a TOEFL score, Letters of Recommendation – both academic and professional, and a personal essay, stating aims and objectives.
